So according to the news, my area of Indy got 13 inches of snow in a span of 18 hours. since the city refuses to plow the broad ripple neighborhood streets, this ends up being a recipe for disaster. Anyway, after a few successful as well as unsuccessful attempts for cars to get out of my neighborhood, I finally sucked it up and went to work around 11. After taking 20 minutes to get off my street, I finally made my way to the Westside. Well it's about 11:30 or noon at this point so I had a brilliant idea that I should get some lunch and take it to the office. So, there is a Wendy's not too far from my office, so I set my destination for it. I got stuck making the turn into Wendy's....which sucked. Lucky for me two guys in a truck were pulling out of Wendy's and they stopped to help. they had a small shovel, but my car was stuck pretty bad. So the three of us are digging out the snow from underneath the car, behind the wheels, etc... After about 5 minutes, we see a man of Mexican descent walking towards us w/ a much bigger shovel. We were obviously excited. What happened next was unfathomable.....he walked right past us!!!!!!!!!!!! literally, he walked 2 feet from us w/ a big shovel and just kept walking. Oh well, it could always be worse. Anyway, a few minutes later my car was free and I was so flustered by the whole situation I completely skipped out on Wendy's and just went to the office.
It has been a few years since I'd seen my pick for Cook's Blog video of the day, but it's a classic. And I don't know how I never noticed a friend of mine, Matt Laramore (or Matt Lawrence or Matt Lamar) was actually featured in this guy's jibberish!!! Boom!!
Taxable Income on 2008 Returns i've reviewed so far = $1,579,410

No one ever comments on your blog, and I'm not sure why. It makes me think that I'm not supposed to. But, I can't resist. Sorry! I've held myself back on several posts already. I'll do so in the future. But, this whole Man Crush thing is starting to concern me. It will be interesting when it finally comes out on your blog. That's all I'm going to say. That, and the "Boom" feature was PAINFUL to watch! I had seen short clips of that before, but never the entire thing at once. Yikes! I wish I had the background on what happened behind the scenes AFTER the segment was finally over! Got anything on that?
ReplyDeleteOh- and great story about your car getting stuck! Hilarious, actually!! Sorry, dude. Wish I could have seen it. The "Mexican" probably knew it was YOU, and like the rest of us, wanted to watch you sweat it out. Glad you made it to work.
ReplyDeleteplease, by all means, comment away. some of my buddies have asked me if they have to be a member to comment...since they don't have google ID i guess they can't leave a comment w/o signing up. hope the blog is at least giving you a few good laughs
ReplyDeleteWe love your blog!! It's the only way we find out what's going on in your life without asking 20 questions and getting a one word response. Actually, you're a very good writer, Brandon, plus a great sense of humor. We're impressed! If you really mess up big on the 2008 taxable income, you might think about being a journalist. Love ya, Mom
