I Need Your Help!!

Friends & Family - I need your help w/ a very important crossroads decision of my life. For you long-time followers of my blog, you may remember that I started this blog early in Jan 2009 as one of my goals for 2009. Well, 2009 is almost over and I can proudly say I achieved my 2009 goals which included beginning to drink whiskey/bourbon straight, write and update my blog weekly (ok, so i didn't achieve the weekly part, and then break 80 on the golf course (did it twice). Now, I need YOUR HELP

It's time to start setting my 2010 goals. Again, I'm gonna go w/ 3 goals, some silly, some serious. I have determined 2 of the goals, but I want your help w/ the 3rd. Over the next few weeks I hope for all of you to give me suggestions on what my 3rd goal for 2010 should be. Then after I have a few choices, I'll put a poll on my blog for everyone to vote on. Deal?

So, my first two goals for 2010 are:
Goal #1 - To be able to do the whole Thriller dance on cue. This wasn't necessarily spurned by MJ's death this past year...after all, I liked him before he died, but more brought on by seeing a group of people randomly do it at a bar around Halloween. So, I feel like I want to be able to bust it out at some random place in 5 years....hence, I have to learn it now.

Goal #2 - I'm taking up Boxing. I don't really want to fight people, I just want to train. Everyone says its the best workout as it works all parts of your body, so I feel like I can devote 60-90 minutes a week doing this. I'm also going to try and convince a friend or two to do it with me. A friend of mine from high school started boxing/training earlier this year and he absolutely loves it, so props to him for doing it and putting the idea in my head. I've already looked into possible gyms to train at and there is one only a few miles from my house that offers "Executive Classes" - meaning people like me who just want to do it for fun 1 night a week, so I think I may join this class.

Goal #3 - ??????????? I'm very excited to hear your suggestions!!!

Life has been good lately. I'm very happy w/ my career, love my friends and family, and am just overall blessed to be acquainted w/ all of you. Other than that, no new updates. I'll be in Elkhart for Xmas Dec 24 - 28th. A little disappointed that Mom/Rick won't be around as they'll be in FL visiting my grandma. Also means I won't see Tad & Kimberly or Wes & Elka (my step-bros).... oh well, I'll have fun w/ Dad's side of the family!

NFL Gambling update: I felt it last week...typically I only bet on 2 games, but for some reason I decided to up that too 4 due to many perceived locks in Week 14. Well, I went 3-1 (and 1-1 for my showdown w/ Evan). Overall i'm now 18-15, which is 55%, so i'm a little short of my 62% goal...better sweep these next few weeks! Evan also went 1-1 last week so he still maintains a 2 game lead on me (17-11 to 15-13) w/ 3 weeks to go.

Bobby Knight - gotta love him!

pocket 10s

Pocket 10's - that's the hand I had when I won my first online poker tournament two weekends ago. As most of you know, I've dabbled w/ some low limit online poker over the past 4-5 years. I don't really play many tournaments, normally I just play cash games for maybe 30 minutes a few times a week. However, the night of ND versus Stanford (aka - Weis's last game), I decided to enter a tourney as I had a few hours w/ nothing to do but watch football. I think there was around 105 people in it and I somehow was lucky enough to come out on top...good little payout as well! So, i may try to play a few more tourneys in December and see if the luck can continue!

Speaking of Weis, what a f'n debacle the last 4 weeks of ND's season was. Now Clausen and Tate are going pro, which isn't that shocking, but it doesn't bode well for next season. Who knows, maybe the Ewing Theory (credit to Simmons) will prevail w/ those two guys leaving....

I had a great Thanksgiving and I hope all of you did as well. It was nice to get home and see some of the family. Also got to spend some time w/ Craig, who lives in Georgia, as well as a few other people from high school.

For the first time in my life since moving out of Dad's house 10 years ago, I actually put up a Xmas tree in my house. It even has lights on it. Granted, it's only about 2 feet tall, but I got it setup on a little end table right in one of my front windows. I felt like I needed to prove to my neighbors that I wasn't a complete Scrooge since I haven't ever put up lights since I've owned this house.

Dad & I's annual college bowl tourney is officially underway, which is really a pain in the ass to setup on the front end. After I have all the entries submitted, it's a piece of cake, but the 6-8 hours of data entry on the front end really sucks. I don't know how Dad used to do this by hand back in the day. Once again, I assume my picks will get demolished by multiple women, 11-year olds and people that don't even know how to keep score.....

NFL Bets - been rough lately, going 1-1 the two weeks prior and 0-2 this past week. Diddy is 16-10 through 13 weeks and I'm 14-12 in our picks against each other. Overall i'm 15-14 on my cumulative bets. Still trying to figure out how Scott went 0-6 on his picks during our Vegas trip (shaking my head).
